Since the 1930s, mined diamonds have been the most sought-after gemstone for engagement rings. Until now, that is. In the 21st century, you have a choice. With continuing advancement in technology, lab-grown diamonds have finally become a genuine alternative to mined diamonds.

Lab-grown diamonds are better value and better for the environment.

Lab-created diamonds are grown in highly controlled laboratory environments using advanced technological processes that duplicate the conditions under which diamonds develop naturally. Lab-grown diamonds display the same physical, chemical and optical characteristics as natural diamonds, exhibiting the same fire and sparkle. Lab-created diamonds are nearly impossible to differentiate from natural diamonds without specialised equipment.

A younger, ethically conscious generation are choosing lab-grown diamonds for their engagement rings because they offer better value, better quality and are better for the environment.

With the naked eye, it is virtually impossible to distinguish the difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds. A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond, featuring the same crystal structure, composition, physical and optical characteristics of mined diamonds. Therefore, it displays the same brilliance and sparkle. In 2018, the US Federal Trade Commission, a leading consumer body in the US, ruled that a diamond is a diamond, regardless of the origin.
