“I have a jewellery box filled with pieces of jewellery that has been handed down from Great-Great-Grandparents, Great-Grandparents to Grandparents to parents and now me. Some of the gold is dated and some of the pieces are broken or damaged and not wearable. It is disappointing that day in and day out, the stuff just sits there.”

This is a common story that all jewellery designers hear.

We are able to take this jewellery and melt it down and re-use most of the metal and the gems. We do have to be cautious to not mix 9 Karat with the 18 Karat gold with the rose gold and with the platinum, but there is no reason why we can't create something beautiful and modern.

We sit with you and look at what you want and how you will be able to wear the piece day to day. We look at modern themes and themes that are timeless. We play with our designs and add and take away bits until you are well and truly in love with the design of your new piece.

Here are some ideas you will need to consider -

What type of jewellery do you wish to recreate? E.g. Ring, Bracelet, Earrings, Necklace etc.

Which type of gemstones would you like to use? E.g. Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby etc.

What type of material do you prefer? E.g. Yellow Gold, White Gold, Rose Gold etc

When we look at rings, we will need to consider the placement of any stones as usually once made, resizing is not an option. If you want something to hand down to future generations, you will need to consider how they will be able to resize or change the ring. Sometimes an engraving will also be affected if you resize the piece or day to day wear will wear down the engraving.

The possibilities for creating a unique necklace are fewer than with rings, but there are still several options, such as Mixing and matching chains and pendants for a variety of styles, customising chain lengths to meet individual needs. Using different textures in different layers. Making a long chain with different textures by combining different styles of small chains. Pendants can be made using unusual objects, like a broken earring.

We are here to help you with all your jewellery needs, just let us know what your ideas are.
